New Netflix Cartoon Glorifies Cross-Dressing

A petition campaign is underway to stop the launch of a new Netflix animated series, Super Drags, geared toward youth and children, that features homosexual “superheroes” who dress like the opposite gender.

The Christian Film and Television Commission (CFTC) has launched a citizengo.org petition aimed at convincing Netflix that their new series has crossed the line. As of this writing, more than 22,000 people have signed on.

“The series is driven by a ‘politically correct’ LGBT agenda and it is chock-full of sexual innuendos that are completely inappropriate for young audiences,” the petition reads.

Here’s how Netflix describes the show: “During the day, they work in a department store and deal with their uptight bitchy boss. By night, they tighten up their corsets and transform into the baddest SUPER DRAGS in town, ready to combat shade and rescue the world’s glitter from the evil villains. Get ready, because the SUPER DRAGS are going deeper than you think.”

As LifeSiteNews reports, the five-episode series is the brainchild of Anderson Mahanski, Fernando Mendonça, and Paulo Lescaut of Brazilian animation studio Combo Studios.

“We are thrilled that our first Brazilian animation will present our audiences with the daring, scandalous and fabulous world of Super Drags!” Netflix director of original international content Chris Sanagustin told Animation Magazine earlier this month.

Not everyone shares his enthusiasm. This show is a far cry from wholesome kids’ shows like VeggieTales and Clifford, the Big Red Dog, but that’s no reason to give them a pass when they introduce a show like this that can be seen by children.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the only new show aimed at introducing children to the concept of cross-dressing. According to the Washington Blade, World of Wonder just launched its new animated series, Drag Tots, which features baby drag queens. The show began streaming on WOW Presents Plus yesterday.

“Our children need a voice,” the CFTC writes. “Will you stand up to those who are intent on pushing the homosexual agenda into their hearts and minds?”

Concerned citizens are urged to sign this petition which asks Netflix CEO Reed Hastings not to give in to pressure to sexually exploit children and asks him to reconsider airing this series.
