When Fatherless Boys Turn Deadly

Did you know that as many as 26 of the 27 deadliest mass shooters in American history were all boys who were raised without their biological father?

Writing for Crisis Magazine, Paul Kengor, Professor of Political Science at Grove City College, reports that almost all of the mass shooters who gunned down hundreds of innocent Americans in the last few decades were raised in homes without the presence of a biological father.

This sad list includes Nikolas Cruz, 19, who killed 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida on February 14. Cruz was adopted by a loving couple but his step-father died when he was very young.

Stephen Paddock, 64, who gunned down 58 people who were attending a concert in Las Vegas on October 1, 2017, was the son of a psychopath. He was just seven years-old when his father was incarcerated for his crimes.

Adam Lanza, 20, who slaughtered 20 children ages six and seven along with six adults in Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut hadn’t seen his father for two years before the shooting.

On June 17, 2015, Dylann Roof, 21, walked into the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina and gunned down nine people. He was the son of an abusive father who was married twice.

The list, compiled by Suzanne Venker, a marriage-family expert, goes on to list 27 shooters of which only one was raised by his biological father since childhood.

“Indeed, there is a direct correlation between boys who grow up with absent fathers and boys who drop out of school, who drink, who do drugs, who become delinquent and who wind up in prison,” observes Venker, adding: “And who kill their classmates.”

Of course, this doesn’t mean that boys raised in fatherless families are likely to become mass shooters, Kengor writes, “But it’s yet further affirmation of what we already know: boys need dads. Just as daughters need dads. Children need fathers. They also need mothers.”

In spite of these appalling statistics, “progressives” continue to push for both fatherless and motherless families with their diehard support of same-sex marriage and parenting which is, by its very definition, “a form of ‘marriage’ and parenting that’s either fatherless or motherless,” Kengor writes.

He cites the “piles of drivel” being printed in liberal media outlets that assert the benefits of same-sex parenting even though they have no more evidence to support than “their New York Times and a grande skim latte at Starbucks.”

“This fatuousness flies in the face of what all human beings know in their hearts, and what even liberals conceded until the dawning of Obergefell, namely: the optimal situation for a child is a mom and dad.”

Normal people uncorrupted by poisonous ideology inherently understand this, he says, and both common sense and rudimentary observation tell us the same. In addition, studies have long affirmed that kids who grow up with a mom and a dad are less likely to be poor, to end up in prison, to get addicted to drugs and are generally healthier and more successful. In fact, the most common denominator among men in prison isn’t their income, race, education level or class distinction, it’s whether they grew up with a father.

“Well, now we can add yet another dubious correlation, a downright frightening one: The most common denominator among males who commit mass shootings is the presence of a biological father in the home. Wow.”

If we’re honest with ourselves, we’ll admit this, but the modern secular-progressive project can’t do this because their aim is to fundamentally transform human nature and in order to do this, they must deny both human nature and reality.

“These denials, for the liberal/progressive, are applied to marriage, family, sexuality, and on and on. It’s fundamental to the fundamental transformation,” Kengor writes.

Thanks to the nature-redefining left, there will be a new generation of children deliberately raised without dads and moms and with the sanction and celebration and coercion of the state and culture and the leftist forces of ‘tolerance’ and ‘diversity’.”

Unfortunately for all of us, he writes, “the social-moral consequences of this fundamental transformation will careen in directions we cannot yet begin to fathom.”
