The Lord’s Garden

August 10

August 10

Feast of St. Lawrence, Deacon and Martyr

“I tell you again and again, my brethren, that in the Lord’s garden are to be found not only the roses of His martyrs. In it there are also the lilies of the virgins, the ivy of wedded couples, and the violets of widows.

-St. Augustine on the Feast of St. Lawrence

Today’s Reflection:

Which “flower” am I in the Lord’s garden? How can I better cooperate with the grace of my state-in-life so that I may eternally bloom before Him?
