The NFL’s Ben Watson, tight end for the Baltimore Ravens, has joined the list of speakers who will address pro-life marchers on January 27.

ChurchPOP is reporting on the news that the outspoken Christian athlete and father of five will join Cardinal Timothy Dolan of New York, Donald Trump’s campaign manager Kellyanne Conway and former Planned Parenthood director Abby Johnson on the National Mall at the 2017 March for Life.

Watson has always been open about his faith in God.

“No matter the situation we must remember that the invisible is more profitable than the visible and that this world, this republic, is passing away but God’s Word remains and His Kingdom is everlastingly,” he said in an interview last summer.

“While I love this country and would rather be in no other land, it is not my true home. Those whose citizenship is in heaven are strangers, pilgrims passing through.”

He has also spoken out with courage and conviction about the impact of abortion on men, women and, in particular, the African American community.

“ . . . [A]bortion will not end until men stand up for both the lives of the innocent and the mothers in crisis,” Watson said recently in an endorsement for the new pro-life book, Abortion: The Ultimate Exploitation of Women.”

“While it has been attractively packaged by some, abortion is the most egregious social injustice of our time. […] We cannot remain silent.”

In another interview with a crisis pregnancy center, Watson blasted Planned Parenthood for the way it targets black communities.

“I do know that blacks kind of represent a large portion of the abortions, and I do know that honestly the whole idea with Planned Parenthood and [Margaret] Sanger in the past was to exterminate blacks, and it’s kind of ironic that it’s working,” he said.

“We (as minorities) support candidates, and overwhelmingly support the idea of having Planned Parenthood and the like, and yet, that is why she created it. We are buying it hook, line, and sinker, like it’s a great thing. It’s just amazing to me and abortion saddens me period, but it seems to be something that is really pushed on minorities and provided to minorities especially as something that they should do.”

Watson married his wife Kirsten in 2005 with whom he has five children: Grace Makayla, Naomi Love, Judah, Eden Moriah, and Isaiah.
