HOPE:  THE VIRTUE OF PERILOUS TIMES
Christian hope finds its source not in our abilities or capacities, nor in our gifts or talents…Rather, Christian hope is a grace that emanates from our baptism and the life of God dwelling within us. It strengthens our will to withstand the tempests of life and to see in them the will and purposes of God. It gives us the confident assurance of God’s presence and inspires us to wait for “things not seen”(Hebrews 11:1). Ultimately, Christian hope leads us to God, for it springs from Him and has Him as its end. That is why, in all of our lives, God will permit many opportunities to practice Christian hope. It is the “stuff” of saints.
