Eucharist:  The Sacrament of Spiritual Nourishment
Because the Eucharist is “the Lord’s own sacrifice” and we have been called to participate in it, the Eucharist is the “source and summit of the Christian life”(CCC1324). In the Eucharist, the Paschal Mystery–Jesus’ Passion, death, and Resurrection–is made present to us. He is the spotless Lamb offered to the Father in atonement for the sins of the world, the perfect sacrifice, the final sacrifice, the eternal sacrifice prophesied of old and now fulfilled.
