From “The Breastplate of St. Patrick”

“Christ shield me this day: Christ with me,St Patrick's Breastplate Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right, Christ on my left, Christ when I lie down, Christ when I arise, Christ in the heart of every person who thinks of me, Christ in the eye that sees me, Christ in the ear that hears me…”

                                       ~St. Patrick

For Reflection:

Considering this prayer of St. Patrick and in light of Ephesians 6: 11-17, what “armor” do I wear daily? How convinced am I that I need to wear the armor of God?

Make Use Of The Sacraments
Prayer removes the blinders from our eyes…It causes us to see that we are in great need of a Savior. And so, in humility and repentance, we turn to the One who is Messiah and Redeemer, who is Savior and Lord. We turn to Jesus Christ, to His mercy, to his compassion. He is “the way, and the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). As we have seen, only in Christ do we discover who we truly are, the ultimate purpose of our existence, and the grand mission to which we have been called. Only in Jesus Christ do we come to the marvelous truth that God has created us in love, to know His love, and to be His love in the world.
