Muslims Shield Christians from Certain Death

kenya mapAn early Christmas miracle took place this week on a bus full of Muslim and Christian travelers in northern Kenya when Islamic terrorists stormed the bus and tried to separate the Christians for execution – but the Muslim passengers would not cooperate.

The Daily Mail is reporting on the incident which took place in Mandera, Kenya, which involved 10 Al-Shabaab terrorists who came upon the bus, spraying it with gunfire and killing two people before boarding. They demanded that Muslim passengers separate from the Christians, but the Muslims refused.

Mandera’s governor, Ali Roba, told Kenya’s Daily Nation newspaper that the Muslims told the terrorists “to kill them together or leave them alone.”

Because this same scenario played out so tragically a year ago when the same terrorist group boarded a bus and killed 28 non-Muslim passengers execution style, Muslims aboard the bus quickly gave some of their fellow travelers Islamic articles of clothing to wear so they would not be distinguished as Christian.

“We stuck together tightly,” said Abdi Mohamud Abdi, a Muslim passenger. “The militants threatened to shoot us but we still refused and protected our brothers and sisters. Finally they gave up and left but warned that they would be back.”

Julius Otieno, the deputy county commissioner, confirmed the account, saying that the militants “were trying to identify who were Muslims and who were not,” and that the Muslim passengers had refused to help.

In addition to the two deaths, four people were wounded, but the death toll could have been much higher if not for the brave actions of those passengers who defied what could have been certain death to stand up for the Christians among them.
