vaughan foodsA 54 year-old woman was beheaded yesterday in a food distribution plant in Moore, Oklahoma by a disgruntled former employee who was a recent convert to Islam and who had allegedly tried converting other employees before he was fired.

KFOR4.com is reporting that Colleen Hufford, an employee of Vaughan Foods in Moore was attacked by 30 year-old Alton Nolen around 4:00 p.m. on the afternoon of September 25. He stabbed her multiple times, then beheaded her.

Another employee, Traci Johnson, 43, was also attacked with the same knife, but survived her injuries and is presently in stable condition in a nearby hospital.

Nolen was brought down by Mark Vaughan, former CEO of the company and an Oklahoma County reserve deputy who shot him several times as he was attacking Johnson. Nolen survived and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

Sergeant Jeremy Lewis of the Moore Police Department is calling Vaughan a hero for his quick intervention which saved the life of Johnson and possibly other employees at the plant.

“He’s a hero in this situation,” Sgt. Lewis told KFOR. “It could have gotten a lot worse.”
