The Chaldean Catholic archbishop of Mosul, Amel Shimoun Nona, has issued a chilling warning to the West  that Christians in the Europe and U.S. can expect the same heartless persecution they experienced at the hands of Islamic jihadists because they don’t believe all men are equal.

CNSNews.com is reporting that Archbishop Nona made the comments during an interview with Corriere della Sera . Now living in exile in Irbil, in Kurdistan Iraq, after being driven out of his diocese in Mosul by the Islamic State terrorist group, he is warning the West that they will be next if they don’t act now to stop the spread of radical Muslims.

“Our sufferings today are the prelude of those that you, Europeans and Western Christians, will also suffer in the near future,” the Archbishop said. “You must consider again our reality in the Middle East, because you are welcoming in your countries an ever growing number of Muslims.

“Also, you are in danger,” he added. “You must take strong and courageous decisions, even at the cost of contradicting your principles.”

The reason for this is because Islam does not recognize democratic principles, nor do they believe all men are equal. “Your values are not their values. If you do not understand this soon enough, you will become the victims of the enemy you have welcomed in your home.”

As CNS reports, the Chaldean Catholic Church traces its roots back to St. Thomas the Apostle and grew widely between the 9th and 14th centuries in the Middle East.

The Chaldean Catholic Church is considered to be an Eastern Rite Church which is in communion with Rome and is under the authority of Pope Francis.
