Supreme Court Refuses Obama Birth Certificate Case

The Supreme Court has turned down an emergency appeal from a New Jersey man who says President-elect Barack Obama cannot be president because he was not born in the United States.

The Court did not comment on its order when it rejected the appeal by Leo Donofrio of East Brunswick New Jersey who claims that because Obama had an American mother and a Kenyan father who was British subject at the time of his birth, he had dual citizenship, making it impossible for  him to fulfill the Constitutional requirement that a person be a “natural born citizen” in order to be president.

According to a report by Newsmax, at least one other appeal over Obama’s citizenship is pending at the nation’s highest court. Philip J. Berg of Lafayette Hill, Pa., argues that Obama was born in Kenya, not Hawaii as Obama claims. Berg says Obama also may be a citizen of Indonesia, where he lived as a boy. Federal courts in Pennsylvania have dismissed Berg’s lawsuit.

Allegations that Obama was not born in the United States have been circulating for months. Obama has thus far refused to produce his original birth certificate and thus put an end to the speculation.

To date, the only proof the Obama campaign provided was a certification of birth which appeared on its website.

Also, on Oct. 31, the Hawaii Department of Health issued a press release saying that Chiyome Fukino, director of Hawaii’s Department of Health, along with Alvin Onaka, the registrar of vital statistics, had “personally seen and verified that Hawaii’s State Department of Public Health has Sen. Obama’s original birth certificate on record in accordance with state policies and procedures.”
