Transgendered Boy Allowed to Harass Girls in Rest Room

Commentary by Susan Brinkmann, OCDS

A Colorado High School is under fire for allowing a transgendered boy to get away with harassing girls in the rest room.

What should come as no surprise to anyone, a boy claiming to be a girl is being permitted to continue using a girls rest room at Florence High School in Florence, Colorado even after girls complained that he is harassing them.

According to the Daily Mail, when parents complained to school officials, they were told the boys rights as a transgender trump their daughters’ privacy rights.

Even more outrageous, some of the girls who complained are being threatened with possible charges of hate crimes and/or being kicked off athletic teams.

The school even went so far as to suggest that the girls stop using some of their restrooms in order to accommodate their transgendered classmate.

Thankfully, someone contacted the Pacific Justice Institute (PJI), a public interest law firm, which has sent the school a letter demanding an explanation and warning about the consequences of stepping on students’ privacy rights.

“We’re not going to stand by and let 99.7 percent of our students lose their privacy and free speech rights just because .3 percent of the population are gender-confused,” the PJI wrote.

PJI is demanding that the school protect the privacy rights of the girls and is insisting that no accommodation be made that will require the girls to give up access to their restrooms.

Most of the people commenting on this report on various news sites are furious at the school – and society – for allowing “political correctness” to get this far. Naturally, high school aged boys who are heterosexual will use this new law as a way to get into the girls’ rest rooms and lockers rooms, then play hero to their buddies for everything seen and heard in there. Although we don’t know if this is the case at Florence yet, it’s only a matter of time before it starts to happen if these outrageous new laws, such as the one just signed last week by California Governor Jerry Brown, are permitted to stand.

It never ceases to amaze me that a country with so many college graduates isn’t smart enough to see through the activists’ relentless tactic of masquerading moral depravity as a “new human right”. Looks like we fell for it again and a lot of innocent school children will suffer the consequences.
