Children Participate in Boston’s Gay Youth Parade

(May 16, 2008) School children participating in Massachusetts’ Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Youth Parade on May 10 were encouraged to display homosexual affection on camera, participate in a gay prom at Boston City Hall, and were given literature that attempted to “christianize” homosexuality.

According to MassResistance, a Massachusetts-based pro-family action center, the parade drew hundreds of children from all over the state. “There was a main theme which was constantly repeated: That kids need to understand that they are being oppressed by our homophobic society, which doesn’t not allow them to enjoy their true (gay) sexuality,” said a MassResistance report.

Among the many disturbing events of the day was the presence of a man dressed as a Catholic priest who was handing out lewd pamphlets such as the “History of Saints Servius and Bacchus” who were supposedly homosexual lovers.

He was also seen distributing a pamphlet entitled “Catholic Theological Defense of Same-Sex Marriage” which states that there is “no moral right to declare marriage off limits to persons whom God has made gay” and that the Pope “is definitely wrong and he will be corrected some day by one of his successors.”

Members of MassResistance saw another booklet being distributed by a “church” entitled “Queer Spirituality” that told children homosexuality is a spiritual experience that “opens us up to God.”

Children also received the pamphlet, “Reading the Bible with New Eyes,” which made claims that Jesus had a homosexual affair with Lazarus and that Mary was a lesbian.

Another pamphlet being widely distributed was a how-to guide for children wanting to tell their parents about their homosexuality.

As disturbing as this event was, it was fully sanctioned and funded by the State of Massachusetts through their Commission on Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Youth. Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick provided an official proclamation endorsing the event.

“At one point during the event, a guest speaker incited the crowd to violently harass photographers from MassResistance. The photographers were surrounded, barred from taking pictures and then assaulted as a Boston police officer in uniform stood by and watched,” said the MassResistance report.

As shocking as this parade was, not a single Boston media outlet reported on the story, leaving many unsuspecting citizens in the dark about how their tax dollars are being used by the city.

“This is how your Legislature is continuing to spend your money,” MassResistance wrote, “to placate a very destructive special interest group whose target is schoolchildren.”
