Sudden Turnaround: Women Voters Propel Romney into Lead

According to the latest polls, women are not only rejecting the so-called “war on women” but are actually behind Gov. Mitt Romney’s five-point lead in key battleground states.

Breitbart News is reporting that a new USA Today/Gallup poll of 869 likely voters in key battleground states found that female voters are behind the new 51-46 lead Gov. Romney currently has over President Barack Obama.

The Romney boost comes from women who once supported the president by double digits. As of the new poll, the two are now tied at 48-48 support among women. This, coupled with Romney’s lead among white men of 54-42, has propelled him into the lead in states such as Florida, Colorado, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Michigan, Wisconsin and the key state of Ohio.

Even more alarming to the Obama campaign is the fact that this poll was taken before the vice presidential debate in which Vice President Joe Biden’s constant laughing and smirking turned off women voters. This means that the surge in female support could be even higher than it appears today.

“In every poll [since the first presidential debate], we’ve seen a major surge among women in favorability for Romney,” Democratic pollster Celinda Lake conceded to USA Today. “Women went into the debate actively disliking Romney, and they came out thinking he might understand their lives and might be able to get something done for them.”

The poll also found that women who support Romney are more enthusiastic about his candidacy than those who support Obama. Forty-six percent of Romney voters say they’re enthusiastic about their candidate compared to only 38 percent of Obama supporters.

And what must come as bad news to the promoters of the phony “war on women,” women voters say the biggest concern in this election is not access to birth control. A recent Kaiser Family Foundation survey found that fewer than 1 percent of respondents mentioned women’s health or birth control as top election-year issues. Instead, the top issues for women in this year’s election are jobs and the economy.

  1. Christians should trust God when He said, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness (e.g. His law in His creation) …and all these things (jobs, food, clothing and shelter) shall be added unto you.”
