Pro-Abortion Extremist Sentenced to 3 Years for Threatening Pro-Life Leaders

A 51 year-old pro-abortion extremist has been sentenced to three years and five months in prison for threatening Father Frank Pavone, director of Priests for Life, and Princeton University professor Robert George.

According to the Associated Press (AP), Federal Judge Paul Crotty ordered Theodore Shulman to serve up to 51 months in prison for threatening to kill Father Pavone and Professor George in 2010. Shulman posted his threats on a Catholic magazine’s website, saying that the two would be killed if Scott Roeder, the man who gunned down late-term abortionist George Tiller, was acquitted. Roeder was convicted of murder the same month that Shulman made his threats.

Shulman is the son of Alix Kates Shulman, feminist author and political activist whose claim to fame came from her 1972 novel, Memoirs of an Ex-Prom Queen. Ms. Shulman often spoke about having four abortions which occurred both before and after her son’s birth.

Theodore Shulman grew up to be a fierce abortion advocate who was well known among pro-lifers who he frequently threatened. Calling himself the “first pro-choice terrorist”, he targeted pro-life leaders such as Jill Stanek, R.N., Cheryl Sullenger of Operation Rescue, Bryan Kemper of Stand True Ministries, and scientist and pro-life activist Gerard Nadal, in addition to Fr. Pavone and Professor George.

According to the Huffington Post, his mission statement was: “Right-to-lifism is murder, and ALL right-to-lifers are bloody-handed accessories. Swear it, believe it, proclaim it, and act on it.”

On Wednesday, Judge Crotty ordered Shulman to serve up to 51 months for his crime.

“I have already publicly forgiven Mr. Shulman and pray for him every day,” Fr. Pavone said. “I also renew, with my friend Bill Baird, known as the Father of the Pro-Choice movement, the joint statement we made years ago rejecting hatred and violence in word and deed between those on opposite sides of the abortion issue.”

  1. We need to pray for this man and his mother’s souls before it’s too late. Their minds have been twisted to the point where they no longer make sense when they speak, and murder means nothing to them anymore.
