Speaking to campaign contributors at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland on Tuesday, President Barack Obama renewed his support for taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood so that his daughters could “control their own health care choices.”
is reporting that the president made the remarks while speaking to a room full of donors holding tickets that started at $500. He had just concluded another roundtable with 25 donors contributing $30,000 per head which was closed to the press.
After criticizing his opponent, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney for wanting to stop federal subsidies to Planned Parenthood, he told the group:
“Mr. Romney wants to get rid of funding for Planned Parenthood. I think that is a bad idea,” Obama said. “I’ve got two daughters. I want them to control their own health care choices. We’re not going backwards, we’re going forwards.”
According to CNS, in fiscal year 2010, Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) received $487.4 million from federal and state governments, which makes up about one-third of the organization’s $1 billion in annual assets. According to its fact sheet, Planned Parenthood performed 329,445 abortions in 2010.
Planned Parenthood is currently being investigated by the U.S. House and has been ordered to produce internal audits from 1998 to 2010 showing how much federal money they received and how it was spent. The nation’s largest abortion provider has been besieged with investigations, lawsuits and criminal charges in the past few years for everything ranging from aiding and abetting child traffickers to improper billing of Medicaid.

I for one do not understand what Michelle Obama is even talking about because as we all know Planned Parenthood has nothing to do with “health” but instead it is all about DEATH and LIES and EUGENICS and POPULATION CONTROL. And I think more and more Americans are waking up to this in light of the recent tragic death of a mother named Tonya who died while undergoing a “health” procedure at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Chicago. The First Lady needs to wake up and face reality NOW.
I think continuing to fund and act like abortion is no big deal is going backwards. We need to learn from our country’s past and use what we know now to improve the lives of today’s Americans. Depending on the study you read, 70%-82% of women regret their abortions. And talking to women who don’t regret them, they are burying their feelings. Many are acting like there’s no such thing as adoption. I bet in a few years the percentages of women who regret their abortions will become even higher as women are educated about human/fetal development and face what they did (killing their own child). It’s very sad. Abortion kills babies, hurts women (and men), and is detrimental to women’s mental/emotional (and sometimes even physical) health.
I think instead of funding Planned Parenthood, the government should be giving grants to places like Rachel’s Vineyard so that women can HEAL from their past mistakes. Mistakes that could have been avoided with better education, adoption resources, and a little self-control. Mistakes caused by Planned Parenthood (distortion of facts, adoption is either not an option or they tell them it’s going to be too hard, and of course sex for anyone and with everyone–at ever-younger ages).
I think Obama and his liberal friends need to wake up and look around. Planned Parenthood is very damaging to America’s youth. STDs, teen pregnancy, abortions, children born out of wedlock, high divorce rates. These are all evils that come with a lack of self-control and all these “quick fixes” they give kids by throwing condoms and pills at them instead of teaching them to respect themselves.
