Abortion Center Closes to Avoid Obeying Law

The only Planned Parenthood facility in the state of South Dakota has chosen to close its doors rather than obey a new state law mandating that all women be told that abortion ends the life of a human being and increases a woman’s risk of physical and mental health problems.

Dissidents to Publish Condemnation of Humanae Vitae

The dissident group, Catholics for Choice, plans to publish an open letter to Pope Benedict XVI in a major U.S. and Italian newspaper on July 25, the 40th anniversary of Humanae Vitae, claiming that the encyclical has been an “utter failure” that endangers women’s lives and leaves millions at risk of HIV.
