WGR10304 - The Unitive Way and Mystical Incarnation

11/4/2011

(Program 10304)

In Galatians 2 verse 20 St. Paul says, "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God." What does St. Paul mean when he says he no longer lives but Christ lives in him? Is this to be the normative way for the Christian? If so, how does this take place? What are the signs that accompany such a union? And, dare we embark upon the path that tends toward mystical incarnation? Blessed John Paul II wrote that mystical incarnation occurs through the grafting of the redeemed on to Christ and their admission into the intimacy of the Trinitarian life." How does prayer take us in this direction, the goal of Christian life?
