Church to DOD: Catholic Chaplains Will Not Preside Over Same-Sex Marriages

In response to a sudden change in position by the Department of Defense (DOD) to allow chaplains to preside over same-sex marriages on military bases, Archbishop Timothy Broglio, head of the Archdiocese for Military Services, says Roman Catholic priests will not be performing the ceremonies.

Archbishop Rebukes Dissident Catholic Group

His Excellency, Timothy Broglio, Archbishop for Military Services, responded to a request from the homosexual advocacy group Catholics for Equality asking him to support the repeal of the military’s “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” policy by firmly stating the Catholic position and telling the group they “cannot be legitimately recognized as Catholic.”

Mother of Six Brings the Faith to Soldiers

A Catholic mother of six and popular radio show host was appalled when she heard that Catholics serving in the military sometimes go for months with the Sacraments, and decided to launch “Frontline Faith,” a brand new apostolate that provides MP3 players to soldiers in the field that are equipped with Catholic programming.
