“The View” Is Not Getting Away With It This Time!

Christians around the country are refusing to let the hosts of The View get away with vile remarks made on a February 13 episode about Christians. They have not only deluged the network with complaints but have now launched an aggressive campaign against the show’s advertisers as well.

According to the Media Research Center, the campaign to get a real apology from The View and an end to the repeated anti-Christian bigotry of the show's hosts has resulted in over 30,600 phone calls to ABC President James Goldston.

During the February 13 episode, hosts Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin discussed remarks made by former White House staffer Omarosa Manigault about the Vice President in which she revealed that “he thinks Jesus tells him to say things.”

Hostin found this to be reason to call Pence’s Christian faith “dangerous.”

“I'm a faithful person, but I don’t know that I want my Vice President, um — speaking in tongues and having Jesus speak to him," Hostin said.

Joy Behar, who has a long history of making disparaging remarks about Christians, said “That's called mental illness, if I'm not correct. Hearing voices.”

The comments made on this show were deeply offensive to Christians everywhere and the network was immediately besieged with calls demanding the hosts apologize.

Almost in mockery of these demands, Behar went on the air a few days later to say the comments were “a joke.”

No one bought it, especially not when, a few days later, Oprah Winfrey told People Magazine about how she asked God to "tell" her if He wanted her to run for president, "and it has to be so clear that not even I can miss it," Winfrey said.

If we go by the opinion of Hostin and Behar about people who listen to God in prayer, then Oprah Winfrey must be mentally ill too, but of course that’s not the case. Neither host even mentioned Winfrey’s comments. Their glaring hypocrisy only made their bigotry more blatant.

As a result, the campaign against The View is now turning its sights on the show’s advertisers. The new campaign has seen almost 10,000 letters of protest sent to advertisers such as Clorox, Gerber, Oreo, and Home Advisor to let them know that this kind of blatant bigotry cannot stand.

When Clorox refused to respond, the MRC stepped up the attack by sending a billboard truck to park in front of its California headquarters sporting the message for all to see: “CLOROX: Stop supporting anti-Christian bigotry on The View.”

The movement has also gained the support of Christian leaders around the country.

“For years, The View has disparaged Christians, and now it has decided to mock the sincerely held beliefs of the Vice President of the United States,” said Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights. “Make no mistake about it, this is an assault on the sensibilities of all Christians. No advertiser can justify supporting this show any longer.”

“Christianity has long been a target of the news and entertainment industries, but in this #MeToo moment, we Christians do not have to tolerate it,” said Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life. “The cast of The View has gone way too far suggesting that those of us who talk to God in prayer are suffering from mental illness, and we need to make sure that ABC and the show’s advertisers understand there will be financial consequences for spewing this kind of hatred.”

“Our Vice President is mentally ill, according to Behar, but it's hands off media maven and liberal darling, Oprah,” said EWTN’s Catholic View for Women stars Janet Morana, Elena Rodriguez, and Teresa Tomeo. “Both claim to seek God's guidance but only one is allowed that privilege. This is why Christians need to contact advertisers of The View. Enough is enough. Consulting with God is an act of great humility and wisdom. We greatly endorse taking a decision to prayer and we applaud anyone who publicly admits taking the time to hear God speak.”

It’s time to jump on the bandwagon! Click here for the names and contact information for all of the major advertisers of The View. Let them that their sponsorship of anti-Christian bigotry is unacceptable.
