Abortion Supporters to Drop Abortion Pills Over Poland

In an unbelievably reckless display of disregard for the health of women, the pro-abortion Women on Waves organization is set to drop a load of abortion pills on a Polish town on Saturday with the hopes of helping women in need of abortion services.

The Telegraph is reporting on the project which is aimed at defying Poland’s ban on all abortions except in cases of rape, incest or fetal abnormality. Instead of respecting the laws of Poland, Women on Waves plans to use a drone which will fly from Frankfurt in Germany to Slubice in Poland and drop a load of abortion pills on the town.

“The abortion drone will mark the different reality for Polish women to access to safe abortion services compared to other women in Europe. In almost all European countries abortion is legal, only in Poland, Ireland and Malta abortion is illegal and women’s rights are still violated,” Women on Waves reports.

While stressing that the pills are “safe” and “approved by the World Health Organization”, Women on Waves founder Rebecca Gomperts thinks this air-drop is “extremely important because within Europe there’s so much inequality and difference in how women’s rights are being respected.”

The organization claims that people on the ground will distribute the pills to women in need but does not say whether these are medically-trained personnel or if anyone will be on hand to advise women about the safe usage of the drug which can only be used up to nine weeks of pregnancy.

There is no indication that these people will be trained to provide counseling to potential users and instead insists that “Scientific research by the World Health Organization (WHO) has shown that medical abortion can easily be done by women themselves at home without supervision by health professionals."

However, this is only according to the notoriously pro-abortion WHO and disregards all research to the contrary.

For instance, women who have high blood pressure, who smoke, use certain medications, have allergies or blood clotting disorders, diabetes, or who have had a history of problem pregnancies including ectopic pregnancies are all advised against using this two-pill regime to abort a child.

In fact, even doctors who support its use say that it is necessary to have a follow-up exam to be certain that the abortion was complete so as to avoid a potentially deadly infection. Will women be informed of this or are these safeguards also included in the category of “denying women’s rights”?

Women on Waves also appears to be making no provision to prevent this medication from falling into the hands of abusers who might use it to cover up their crimes.

Instead, they insist this radical endeavor is important for “pointing out the lack of safe access to abortion and medical abortion pills” in Poland, which it calls “a violation of women’s rights.”

“There are no regulations or laws that prevent us from doing this or any that say it would be illegal,” Gomperts says. “It’s the first time we’re doing something like this, so we don’t know what the Government’s going to do. We’re just going to see what happens.”

This is reckless endangerment of the public health and the organizers of this ideologically driven campaign should be held accountable, regardless of how many innocent women and their unborn babies are harmed by these so-called “safe” drugs.
