Controversial WebCast Allows Viewers to Determine Fate of Unborn

By Susan Brinkmann, OCDS Staff Journalist Just as pro-life marchers were heading home from what many believe was the biggest rally in the 37 year history of the March for Life, a new webcast series was launched which will allow viewers to choose how three fictional women should deal with their unplanned pregnancies. The pilot of the web series named BUMP+, was launched by the Yellow Line Studio on Friday, Jan. 22 and will include 13 episodes in February and March which will follow the lives of three women who are facing unintended pregnancies. The fate of these fictional unborn babies will lie in the hands of the viewers. “From Juno and Bella to Glee and Desperate Housewives, a woman’s right to choose has been explored across the media landscape,” says executive producer Dominic Iocco. “What makes BUMP+ different from the others is that we’re letting the viewers decide how our characters’ stories will end. We’ve opened the official website to comments and our team will craft the final episodes based on audience feedback. Their choice really is up to you.” The three women will include a military wife named Katie Donahue (Tina Schlapprizzi), a fame-seeking sorority girl named Hailey Kirsch (Lyndsey Doolen), and a free-spirited mother of two Denise Jensen (Isabelle Giroux). According to co-executive producer Christopher Riley, the series concept was inspired by President Obama’s commencement speech to graduates at Notre Dame in May, 2009. “He urged people on both sides of the debate to find ways to communicate about a workable solution to the problem of unintended pregnancies,” says Riley. “That’s how we’re approaching this – as an experiment to see if story can succeed where nearly four decades of angry rhetoric and political posturing have failed. We’re not making a moral or political statement; hopefully, we’re starting a conversation with the audience.” Yellow Line Studio, an independent entertainment company, is headquartered in San Diego and operates a satellite office in Los Angeles. © All Rights Reserved, Living His Life Abundantly®/Women of Grace®  http://www.womenofgrace.com
