Planned Parenthood Video Praises Sluts

In yet another example of the poor quality of Planned Parenthood's educational materials for teens, a video on their Facebook page praises young women who are sexually promiscuous.

LifeNews.com is reporting that the MTV video targeting teens and tweens which is available on Planned Parenthood's Info for Teens Facebook page, young people are taught to respect promiscuous girls because, as sluts, they are "confident in their sexuality."

In the video, a sex instructor stands in front of a chalkboard showing one large stick figure and many small ones. “Let’s say this guy [the big one] has hooked up with all these [little] people. Whoa! What a stud,” the instructor says while cheering is heard in the background. “But let’s say this is a girl,” he says and draws a skirt on the large stick figure. “Is the situation any different? Yes or no? NO!” he says.

The instructor then tries to convince his students that judging someone in a negative way because they are sexually promiscuous is bad. But since some girls might be offended by the word slut, he warns: “Be careful when you throw a word like ‘slut’ around. It should only be used for good.”

The video ends with a quiz and anyone who doesn't believe his claim that being a slut is a positive thing is given a failing grade.

LifeNews' Steve Ertelt then reminds readers of the work of Dr. Miriam Grossman, a campus psychiatrist at UCLA, whose book Misery U: Hook-up Culture Leaves Casualties in which she explains the physical and emotional damage being done to young women who buy into the idea that sex can be casual.

In her book, Dr. Grossman documents the many wounds caused by promiscuity, from the sexually transmitted diseases and resultant infertility to the insomnia and depression young women are suffering today from the false notion that they can have sex just for fun.

"The college students who end up in my office don’t sound so carefree," Dr. Grossman writes. "They share grim tales of unwanted pregnancies and treatment for warts and abnormal Pap smears. They are ashamed and worried. Some have insomnia or depression related to their conditions. Others aren’t infected, so far as they know, they just have broken hearts."

When it comes to encouraging promiscuity in teens, the only winner is Planned Parenthood's bottom line, Ertelt surmises.  They rake in nearly a billion dollars a year - which includes millions in taxpayer dollars - by providing the youth they misguide with pills, abortions and STD treatment at a rate high enough to keep their top executives living in the coveted "One Percent" of U.S. households.

"It’s a temporary win for Planned Parenthood and a FAIL for families," says Ertelt. "But, hey, be careful how you throw that word 'slut' around. Only use it for good."
