God has a specific plan for woman. He has given her a holy mission, a holy call.

We are praying for the grace of authentic femininity and spiritual Motherhood.

The Soul of Woman

… the soul is the formative principle of the body – anima corporis forma. Human nature has two species, male and female. The difference between the bodies of men and women indicate corresponding differences in spirituality and calling.
Anne Roche Muggeridge

Dear Lord,
You have purposed that human persons consist of a body and a soul. Since the soul takes the form of the body, if my body is feminine, then my soul is feminine also. Reveal to me how I can live out the fullness of my gender – in body and soul. May all I do be consistent with who you have chosen me to be – a female person created in your image and likeness. Amen.

Scripture Passage for Meditation:
Then God said: “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness;…” So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them (Genesis 1: 26,27). RSV

Daily Reflection:
· God has created the female person to share in His sovereign act of bringing new life to the world. Her body reflects this. If the soul is the “immediate substantial” form of the body (Council of Vienne 1311-1312), what does the life-bearing potential of the female body indicate about the soul of woman?

· Could there be a relationship between a contraceptive mentality and a contraceptive spirituality? By purposefully frustrating the conjugal act and preventing herself from exercising her feminine charism to bear life physically, could a woman prevent herself from experiencing the fullness of spiritual life?

· How can my soul be life-giving for myself? For others?

· How can this aspect of my being be nurtured?
