While we know that many saints lived in poverty, do we imagine that they struggled with many of the financial decisions they made? Such is the case with more than one saint who regretted poor decisions.
And then, of course, there are those saintly men and women who knew the suffering of poverty throughout all of their lives, and made it a way of purification and sanctity, especially when the dollars didn’t stretch.
Today, when so many are experiencing financial reversals and the devastation of lost income, the ways and means of these saints shed heavenly light and beckon us toward hope and consolation.
