WGR10322 - Indoctrinating Our Daughters: The Girl Scout Curriculum

2/23/2012

(Program 10323)
Program Guests: Christy Volanski, Rochelle Focaracci

Parents should be attentive to what their children are learning. The concepts, ideologies, and worldview presented to them have the power to shape the direction they will choose and the decisions they will make. While the Girl Scout organization has been well-regarded within the Christian community, its new curriculum, the Journeys series, is one reason why Christian churches are scratching their endorsement.  Journeys casts a favorable light on such controversial topics as contraception, abortion and the gay lifestyle and goes so far as to encourage young women to become involved in promoting such efforts. Here to discuss the Journey's curriculum with us are Christy Volanski and Rochelle Focaracci. They are both former girl scout leaders and their daughters were former girl scouts.
