I remember well the words spoken by the chaplain of the marriage encounter retreat my husband and I attended many years ago.

He told us that we never wanted our marriage to get ripe because, as it is with fruit, the next stage after ripe is rotten!

That was good advice and what he was saying is that our marriage needed to be constantly growing, becoming, moving toward perfection.

Not only is Father Harry Brown’s advice good for marriage, it is very appropriate and beneficial for our life in the Holy Spirit. We always want our relationship with God to be growing from glory to glory.
