In celebration of the 800th anniversary of the Dominican Religious Order, we are taking a look at the many gifts the Church has received through this community of men and women founded by St. Dominic.

One of its most remarkable charisms is that of preaching. Since the Dominican OP stands for Ordinis Praedicatorum, Order of Preachers, it seems only right and fitting that we should explore this most necessary charism and the benefits it has yielded for the people of God.

And that’s just what we are going to do today. We’ll find out the difference between good preaching and not so good, the rights and wrongs about it, what performance has to do with preaching, and the benefits of good preaching received by the preacher as well as the people who hear the preaching.
