In her book, today’s guest writes that she compares her life’s journey as a mother with children who have autism to a hike up the Appalacian Trail.

Her ability to complete the journey with joy and satisfaction depends on her ability to take care of herself physically, to prepare mentally for the hard stretches, to use the right tools to make the trek easier, and to have a good support system in place.

But, she says, more than anything else, she needs a trail to follow and a map to help her when she gets lost. Her book, and hopefully this series of programs, will provide just that for the thousands of families for whom autism is a daily reality.
