Holy Mother Church tells us that only perfected souls enter the Kingdom of Heaven. If a person has died, assured of attaining salvation but not yet freed from all of the residual effects of sin, his soul enters a process of purification.

And this process is what Purgatory is all about. Sacred Scripture, Holy Mother Church, and the saints all have something to tell us about it – and so do our guests.
