WGR10708 - St. John Paul II: The Marks of His Sanctity Part 4

7/11/2014

(Program 10708)
Guest: Jason Evert

While devotion to the Blessed Mother was part of his life since his earliest days, Saint John Paul the Second credits the witness and testimony of his friend, Jan Tyranowski, as the stimulus that took it to a whole new level.

A gifted layman with a rich mystical prayer life, Jan introduced him to the writing of St. Louis de Montfort, most particularly his treatise on True Devotion to Mary.

So devoted to Our Lady was he that Pope John Paul the Second took for his papal motto, "Toto Tuus,"totally yours and consecrated his papacy to Jesus through her maternal intercession. His love of the Blessed Mother and the writings he gives us about her are part of his legacy, his gift to the Church.
