goals of the International Week of Prayer and Fasting are to pray and
fast for the conversion of all nations, to build a culture of life,
and to promote peace in the world. On September 20th at
the Eucharistic Prayer Vigil Opening Day, IWOPF will unite with the Hispanic, Asian,
African, and European Communities to pray and fast for nine days for our world,
our country, our leaders, families, parishes and youth. You can visit their website at www.iwopf.org for
more information. They have also produced a beautiful nine-minute video, which provides an overview of
how the IWOPF began and why it is so urgent for our times http://vimeo.com/97551806.
IWOPF also encourages prayer communities to
participate in the remaining eight days of the campaign by
inviting individuals, parishes and schools to organize prayer vigils at their parishes.
all day Eucharistic Prayer Vigil will be the opening kickoff day for these
nine days. There will be a Global Living Rosary recited
by Asian, African, and Hispanic groups along with a Children's Rosary.
There will be Mass at noon with the Procession of the Nations before.
