Fetal Tissue Firm Drops Lawsuit Against Daleiden

In yet another victory for David Daleiden, the man whose videos blew the lid off of fetal body parts trafficking in the U.S., the fetal tissue broker at the center of the controversy has dropped its charges against him.

The Life Legal Defense Foundation, who represented Daleiden, is reporting that StemExpress, a fetal tissue broker that purchased aborted baby parts from Planned Parenthood and then sold them for profit, filed a notice of dismissal yesterday of its suit against Daleiden.

Daleiden, founder the Center for Medical Progress, captured a video in which StemExpress CEO Cate Dyer discusses the purchase of fetal body parts from Planned Parenthood and stresses the importance of ensuring profitability for the abortion providers. She is also seen laughing as she describes how the company ships babies’ bodies to research groups in a way to mitigate their alarm when they see the faces of the intact fetuses.

“StemExpress sold the parts to universities and research facilities at a substantial markup,” Life Legal reports. “The body parts broker has been referred to the FBI and the U.S. Department of Justice for investigation and possible criminal prosecution for its role in the illegal trafficking of fetal body parts.”

Alexandra Snyder, Executive Director of Life Legal Defense Foundation, expressed her satisfaction over the recent turn of events.

“Life Legal is thrilled that StemExpress has dropped its meritless lawsuit. We have always maintained that the allegations raised in the lawsuit were baseless and that the suit was only filed to punish David Daleiden for exposing the truth about the StemExpress’ role in the illegal trafficking of fetal body parts.”

The firm, which devotes itself to defending the most vulnerable, continues to defend Daleiden in two other lawsuits filed against him by the National Abortion Federation and Planned Parenthood. Trumped up charges made by Texas District Attorney Devon Anderson have also been dismissed. Anderson has since been voted out of office.

David Daleiden was equally pleased by his most recent court victory.

“StemExpress was the first of Planned Parenthood’s accomplices to file a retaliatory lawsuit against citizen journalists and the first to seek an unconstitutional prior restraint on our First Amendment rights to speak and publish,” he said in a statement.

“Now, the video is out for all the world to see, StemExpress faces criminal referral in multiple jurisdictions, and they are walking away from their own lawsuit empty-handed.”

He credited the excellent legal representation he received from Life Legal and Freedom of Conscience Defense Fund for the victory.

“StemExpress’ surrender sends an unmistakable message to Planned Parenthood, the National Abortion Federation, and all their political cronies who would dare to attack the First Amendment to cover up their crimes,” he added.
