How does Purgatory reveal to us the mercy of God? Why is purification and true holiness necessary to enter the joy of heaven?

 Pg 33  Happy those who have heard the divine Word, and kept it faithfully in their hearts. Happy those who, awakening from their sleep, shall have walked honestly and openly, following the apostle's recommendation.
